Hannah the Survivor...on the Road to Recovery.

Hannah is a devoted friend, a daughter, an aunt, a co-worker…and a survivor of two life-threatening illnesses. Hannah is 26 years old, who survived kidney failure and almost dying on March 23, 2018. She was initially diagnosed with Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (caused by food poisoning), Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome, Acute Hypertensive Crisis and spent 30 days in a hospital. She was placed on dialysis due to kidney failure. In May 2018, her kidney function improved and she ceased dialysis. In September 2018, she was admitted to the hospital and spent another 28 days inpatient. She was diagnosed with Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome (“AHUS”), a rare genetic mutation that caused her immune system to attack the cells lining her blood vessels.
