How does the Nonprofit Alliance program work?

The AngeLink Community Foundation (“ACF”) Nonprofit Alliance enables charities to access new potential digital donations. Nonprofit organizations such as 501(c)(3) Public Charities, religious institutions or Private Operating Foundations in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) may enroll in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance. ACF provides grants to nonprofits that are vetted through our nonprofit review process to ensure that all funds are used solely for charitable purposes. In order to enroll, nonprofits must meet the standards articulated in the ACF Nonprofit User Agreement (in addition to all other relevant ACF policies) and be able to provide proof of charitable status.

Once you enroll in the Nonprofit Alliance, you will receive an email verifying that ACF has reviewed and/or confirmed your charity status. Nonprofits in California will be notified if they may need to complete additional screening. Nonprofits that do not want ACF to accept donations on their behalf can request to be removed from our platform at any time by contacting us at legal@angelinkcf.org.

Who can enroll in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance?

Nonprofit organizations such as 501(c)(3) Public Charities, religious institutions or Private Operating Foundations in good standing with the IRS may all enroll in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance. ACF provides grants to nonprofits that are vetted through our nonprofit review process to ensure that all funds are used solely for charitable purposes. In order to enroll, nonprofits must meet the standards articulated in the ACF Nonprofit User Agreement and be able to provide proof of charitable status.

Do I pay any fees to receive donations through ACF?

No. ACF does not charge any fees to enroll nonprofits or to receive donations. However, standard credit card processing fees apply on the platform(s) disclosed on our technology partner AngeLink’s website.

Does my nonprofit have to enroll in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance to receive donor-advised funds?

Yes, in order for your nonprofit to receive ACF donations or grants, your charity must be enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance. Learn more about how ACF grants funds to nonprofits that are enrolled in our Nonprofit Alliance by reviewing the ACF Donation Remittance Policy.

For charities enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance when we receive donor-recommended contributions to your nonprofit, we will attempt to remit the funds via check if your nonprofit meets our requirements in the ACF Nonprofit User Agreement, Nonprofit Alliance Policy and the Donation Remittance Policy.

Enrolled charities will also get access to donor information and donation details (if the donor did not choose to donate anonymously). In addition, you may add your logo and describe your mission and charitable impact to enhance donor-advised funds.

What happens after my charity joins the Nonprofit Alliance when donor-advised funds are directed to my nonprofit?

ACF will attempt on a best efforts basis to grant donations made to your nonprofit from donor-advised funds provided that ACF is able to verify that your nonprofit complies with the requirements of the Donation Remittance Policy and the ACF Nonprofit User Agreement.

Why does my nonprofit appear on your platform when it is not enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance?

ACF and our technology partner, AngeLink, are committed to building the world’s largest digital donor community and want to provide donors a wide selection of charities from which to potentially give. To do this, ACF connects to third-party nonprofit databases to display 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations from public databases, so that donors choose what nonprofits they recommend their donations be directed.

Please note that this third-party database may include unenrolled nonprofits which have not agreed to the ACF Nonprofit User Agreement or reviewed the ACF Nonprofit Alliance Policy. If your nonprofit does not want to be enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance and you have already received an email verification from us, please contact us at hello@angelinkcf.org.

How and when will my nonprofit get paid?

ACF distributes donor-advised funds to enrolled charities every month (approximately 15 days after the end of the previous month) by contacting the recommended nonprofit at the email provided by the nonprofit during enrollment with the Nonprofit Alliance. ACF typically pays funds via check to the nonprofit’s listed address once the nonprofit has successfully submitted proper mailing and account information.

If a donor-advised contribution was made to a nonprofit that is not enrolled in the Nonprofit Alliance, ACF requires that the nonprofit enroll into the program. Enrolling in the Nonprofit Alliance enables your nonprofit to properly receive funds, share updates on your nonprofit with ACF and to participate in additional ACF programs.

If a recommended nonprofit has not enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance, then ACF will, on a best efforts basis, attempt to contact your nonprofit in order for you to enroll in our Nonprofit Alliance to receive donor-advised funds via check pursuant to our Donation Remittance Policy. Donations received after the date of processing for the month will be in the next monthly payment to reduce administrative expenses.

How does ACF track donor-advised contributions?

ACF utilizes our technology partner’s (AngeLink’s) platform to confirm donor-advised contributions. Nonprofits will get a monthly payment via check for funds received for the month, with the donation amount, date and donor name (if the donor did not choose to remain anonymous).

How can I access donor information from donor-advised contributions to my nonprofit?

Nonprofits will get a monthly payment via check for funds received for the month, with the donation amount, date and donor name (if the donor did not choose to remain anonymous).

Can I remove my nonprofit from the platform database to remove my charity from the directory?

Yes. Nonprofits that do not want ACF to accept donor-advised funds for their organization may request to be removed from our platform(s) by contacting hello@angelinkcf.org.

Why hasn’t my nonprofit received funds that were donated to my charity on AngeLink?

ACF is the receiving charity for most donations to IRS-registered 501 (c)(3) charities made through AngeLink. Nonprofits listed as beneficiaries for AngeLink fundraising campaigns must enroll in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance to receive any donor-advised funds. Once your nonprofit is enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance, your nonprofit will receive funds in monthly payouts approximately 15 days after the month end pursuant to the ACF Donation Remittance Policy and the ACF Nonprofit User Agreement. As these are donor-advised funds, ACF is under no legal obligation to donate them to your nonprofit. We will, however, attempt to make such donations on a best efforts basis.

What fees will be charged for funds donated through AngeLink?

Our partner platform (AngeLink) enables fundraising campaigns to raise funds to benefit certified charities. Through the AngeLink platform, donors can donate to an existing charitable fundraising campaign or create their own fundraising campaign to benefit another charity. Our partner fundraising platform (AngeLink) is a free platform and does not charge a platform fee. However, standard processing and transactions fees apply to ensure safety and security for both the donor and beneficiary, a description of which can be found on the AngeLink Inc., website. See www.AngeLink.com to learn more.

Will I be charged fees for donating through ACF?

No. ACF does not charge donors any fees for its services.

Do I need to enroll with ACF to donate?

Why does my donation go to AngeLink Community Foundation?

We receive donations through our technology partner, (AngeLink), to empower people to support charities, nonprofits and causes they love. Through the kindness of our giving community, we provide financial grants to donor-recommended charities to create the world’s largest digital donor community.

We facilitate donor-advised funds for charities as the “charity of record” for all donations. ACF is operating as a donor-advised fund. We receive and grant 100% of donated funds to other charities, less any standard payment and transaction processing fees, and ensure safety and security for both the donor and beneficiary. For more information, please see our Donation Remittance Policy.

After I donate, when does the charity receive the money?

ACF is the “charity of record” as the receiving IRS-registered 501 (c)(3) charity for donations on our platform and most donations made through our fundraising partner (AngeLink Inc.) platform. When donations are submitted on the AngeLink or ACF platform(s), ACF will attempt on a best efforts basis to grant funds to the donor’s recommended nonprofit. ACF is operating as a donor-advised fund. A charity must enroll in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance in order to receive funds. Pending distribution of grants, ACF holds donations in a secure, non-interest-bearing bank account. ACF does not charge donors or charities any fees to utilize its services, however standard transaction and payment processing fees apply.

Nonprofits must meet our requirements pursuant to our ACF Nonprofit User Agreement in order to enroll in our program. Grants are made pursuant to our Donation Remittance Policy.

What happens if a donation can’t be delivered to a charity?

In the unusual circumstance that a donation cannot be granted pursuant to a donor’s recommended charity, ACF will either reassign the donation to another similar charitable organization or to an ACF charitable program. Pending distribution of grants, ACF holds donations in a secure, non-interest-bearing bank account.

ACF makes several attempts on a best efforts basis to grant funds to the donor’s recommended charity. ACF is the “charity of record,” the receiving charity for donations on our platform(s) and retains exclusive control over all donations. The listing of a charity in the AngeLink or ACF database or directory is not a guarantee that the charity will receive funds from ACF. You can learn more about how ACF grants funds to unenrolled and enrolled nonprofits by reviewing our Donation Remittance Policy.

In the unlikely event ACF is unable to remit the funds successfully because the charity fails to cash the check sent, or the charity no longer complies with the ACF Nonprofit Alliance Policy (or any other applicable ACF policy), ACF reserves the right to reassign the donation to another similar charitable organization or to an ACF charitable program. Charities enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance must meet the eligibility requirements in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance Policy.

Why didn’t the charity I intended to benefit receive the donation I made through ACF?

In the event we’re unable to remit the funds successfully because the charity fails to cash the check sent, the charity no longer complies with the ACF Nonprofit Alliance Policy, or for any other reason not enumerated in its policies, ACF reserves the right to reassign the donation to another similar charitable organization or to a ACF charitable program. Pending distribution of grants, ACF holds donations in a secure, non-interest-bearing bank account.

AngeLink Community Foundation Programs

Donors expressly acknowledge and agree that all donations made to a nonprofit on our technology partner AngeLink’s platform are made as voluntarily gifts to the AngeLink Community Foundation, (“ACF”), a 501(c)(3) public charity, Federal tax ID: 85-2671534 without conditions. At the time of their donation, donors will receive a tax receipt from ACF. ACF is a donor-advised fund. In order for your donation to ACF be considered tax-deductible, it must be a final, irrevocable gift to ACF as required by law. ACF grants funds to charities enrolled in the ACF Nonprofit Alliance pursuant to the ACF Nonprofit Alliance User Agreement.

Refund Policy

Donations to ACF are non refundable under any circumstances. By donating, you understand and agree that your donation is nonrefundable. If, in ACF’s sole and exclusive discretion, a campaign is determined to be misrepresented, fraudulent, or in breach of our technology partner, under AngeLink’s Terms of Service, that campaign will be terminated and all donations will be contributed to ACF.

ACF, as an IRS registered 501 (c)(3) charity, provides funds to partners of its charitable Nonprofit Alliance every month. ACF is not able to provide refunds for donations that have been previously granted to a charitable partner and therefore you must contact the charity partner that received the ACF grant to discuss a potential refund.

Refunds for a donation to a charity are highly unusual and may be granted by a Nonprofit Alliance partner in their sole and exclusive discretion. Circumstances under which a Nonprofit Alliance Partner refund might be granted include:

  • The donation was not authorized by the donor
  • Your donation was made by mistake or was unintentional
  • The amount donated was incorrect

ACF may update, modify or terminate this Policy in its sole and exclusive discretion without notice at any time. This Policy represents the entire understanding between you and ACF regarding potential refunds and supersedes any other oral or written documentation between ACF and you regarding any potential refund or claim. Please also review the ACF Donor Terms of Service as the TOS will supplant any terms of this Policy that may be in conflict for any reason.

This Policy does not constitute a warranty against potential fraud or misuse by a Nonprofit Alliance Partner charity nor does it constitute an insurance contract of any kind. Any terms of this Policy are not transferable or assignable by you. Any decision to grant benefits under this Policy does not constitute a waiver of ACF’s right to decline future payments in our sole and exclusive discretion.

In the event that donations are withdrawn by a nonprofit beneficiary, but later recovered by AngeLink, those donations will be contributed to ACF. ACF empowers women and organizations that support women through grants and distributions to charitable organizations. Learn more about ACF.
