To Our Close Friends and Family, Our youngest Son Owen (13) was diagnosed with Stargardt's Disease in kindergarten. Stargardt's disease is a rare genetic eye disorder affecting 1 in every 10,000 people. This disease causes retinal degeneration and vision loss, reducing and/or eliminating central vision, while preserving some of the periphery. Owen is currently learning to make the most of his remaining and deteriorating vision. Owen has always loved the outdoors.
