He spent 10 days in the hospital, and after multiple hospital visits and hundreds of tests, Leaven’s doctors diagnosed him with nephronophthisis. Nephronophthisis is a rare, inherited kidney disease that causes chronic tubulointerstitial nephritis and can lead to end-stage kidney disease (ESKD).
