Holly’s Cancer Journey

Dear friends, Let me introduce myself - I'm Holly. I've been on a challenging journey, fighting cancer for the 5th time in 19 years. It's been a rollercoaster, but I've always held onto hope and positivity. In 2005, I faced Acute Myeloid Leukemia and underwent a bone marrow transplant, followed by a tough battle with systemic blood infections and AML in 2010. Despite overcoming these hurdles, the AML resurfaced in 2011, leading me to a second bone marrow transplant in 2012. Fortunately, I managed to heal and embrace a 'normal' life, but the fight wasn't over. In 2022, a routine mammogram revealed Stage 0 breast cancer, prompting me to undergo a double mastectomy with reconstruction in 2023. Just when I thought I could breathe easy, a severe battle with Covid and the return of AML in 2024 have landed me back in the fight for my life. I'm currently undergoing a rigorous chemo regimen in the hope of achieving remission. The prospect of a potential 3rd bone marrow transplant looms ahead. ...View More
