Hope's Journey: A Fundraiser for Karsen's Cancer Battle

In July of 2020, Karsen noticed a small bump on his left hand. Within a couple of weeks, that bump grew rapidly, alarming his family. Rushed to the emergency room at Golisano Children’s Hospital, Karsen underwent a series of tests culminating in a biopsy. The diagnosis was devastating: Stage 4, Group 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma with PAX3-FOXO1 fusion protein. The journey through treatment was arduous. Karsen endured rounds of chemotherapy following the ARSTI 1431 protocol, enduring weekly treatments for 15 months until finally completing chemotherapy on 2/3/22, with no evidence of disease. Tragically, the family's respite was short-lived. In August of 2022, a new bump appeared on Karsen's left forearm, sending shockwaves through the family.
