Liz's Story Where do we begin to share and highlight such an extraordinary life that Liz Ledesma lived? Liz’s journey was one that was meaningful and amazing! Filled with God, love, smiles, laughter and tears, she was a beloved mother, sister, Tia, “Grama” and friend to all those whose lives she touched. The second (but technically third) child, Liz was born in Los Angeles, California along with her twin brother Ismael “Smiley” Aguirre on June 29, 1952 to the incomparable Mrs. Mary G. Calvert. At the age of two, the Aguirre family packed up and moved to San Antonio, Texas. It was there where Liz was raised alongside her eldest brother Junior, Smiley and her younger sister Esther. Ensuring faith be a vital part of her family, Mary had Liz proceed from grade school to Providence Catholic High School where she fell in love with the Arts and was even a member of the drill team, The Provets!
