Support Sam & Bethany in Their Grief

The LORD gave the and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised. (Job 1:21) Birth announcements are always a reason to celebrate and praise God. The birth of Charlotte Marie ("Charlie") Dufrin to Sam and Bethany on Wednesday, April 8 was an answered prayer and caused many of us to celebrate her arrival. We knew there would be challenges and we wondered what God might do with her little life. Today we can see God's plan more clearly. Charlie was meant to live two glorious days and cause all of those around her to love her deeply, especially her mommy and daddy. Charlie was meant to point us to God and show us the wonder of life, the grace of our Creator, and the great need we have for a savior. Charlie was meant to show us that this world is broken and this life is not all there is. As she waits for us in the presence of Jesus, we are today very aware of where we long to be.
