Lisa's Memory

Dear family, friends, and readers, On Monday, January 5, we experienced the sudden loss of Lisa Nguyen. Lisa was a creative spirit who experienced the world deeply, expressing herself through words, painting, and crafting. She was the youngest of nine children whose parents arrived in the U.S. as Vietnamese refugees. Her spirit lives on through her five children, ages 17, 15, 10, 3, and 2. After spending a decade as a stay-at-home mom, Lisa embarked on a new journey with her sister, Diana, as a business owner, opening a bubble tea shop — What’s the Tea? — in Hutto, Texas, in December 2025. What’s the Tea? was inspired by the Vietnamese treats her mother would bring to Asian markets when Lisa was a child and by Lisa's passion for boba tea as a teen. The shop was Lisa’s sanctuary, her dream. Inside, Vietnamese ornamentation met picture-worthy charms.
