Boobie’s Homecoming

Shelvonya Stokes, affectionately known as Boobie, was not just a big sister to 4 siblings, but also a loving mother to 2 children. Her strength and resilience were put to the test when she faced the heartbreaking loss of her oldest son, Tyriq. Despite the immense challenges that followed—battling stroke, lupus, failing kidney, and breast cancer—Boobie never gave up. Even after being cleared of cancer and placed on the donor list, she received the devastating news that the cancer had returned, spreading to her liver and brain. Throughout it all, Boobie remained determined to fight for her family, especially for her surviving daughter. Tragically, on September 21, 2024, Boobie made the courageous decision to let go. As we honor her wishes and make arrangements for her aftercare, we have encountered an unexpected challenge.
