Kidney Transplant & Expenses

Hello everyone, my name is Curt Smith, and I’m sharing my journey with you. In 2008, I was diagnosed with kidney disease. Unfortunately, in 2023, I received the difficult news of being diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. Despite these challenges, I’ve been fighting with all my strength to prolong my kidney function. Due to my condition, I had to take a medical leave from my volunteer firefighter/EMT-B role and had to relinquish my Commercial driver’s license. Currently, I serve as a Safety Manager for a trucking company. I’m a proud father of three biological adult children, have six adult stepkids, and am blessed with six grandchildren. I want to continue working and not solely rely on disability benefits or have taxpayers bear the burden of my transplant costs. Instead, I humbly request the support of my fellow American taxpayers.
